These communities are for an individual who wishes to live in a community setting but requires no assistance with activities of daily living. The living arrangements are usually one to two bedroom apartments. Typically, this type of community offers meals in a common dining room, scheduled transportation, weekly housekeeping, social programs, entertainment, exercise programs and staff to assist with various issues.
These communities are for an individual who requires more assistance than an independent living community. An individual will have a private apartment with a living space, kitchenette and a private bath. The community will offer meals in a common dining room, housekeeping, social programs, scheduled transportation, weekly housekeeping, exercise programs. Additionally, assisted living communities provide various levels of care with activities of daily living such as: medication reminders, bathing assistance, dressing, and incontinence care.
A board and care offers a small, intimate living setting. The living arrangements may or may not be in a private room. There will be caregivers at the facility. They will help the individual with activities of daily living. Meals are provided.
